OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the CIO is to strengthen the Cleantech location East Germany and support the economic development.
The CLEANTECH Initiative Ostdeutschland aims at combining the East German Cleantech stakeholders (companies, research institutions, organisations, etc.) - across sectors and federal states - in a sustainably operating network, so that Eastern Germany is strengthened as an important Cleantech location, economic success is achieved and an increased growth is generated. As "umbrella organisation" for Cleantech in East Germany, CIO offers its members new, innovative offers adapted to the requirements of the companies:
Sustainable networking beyond the federal state borders
The CLEANTECH Initiative Ostdeutschland aims at combining the East German Cleantech stakeholders (companies, research institutions, organisations, etc.) - across sectors and federal states - in a sustainably operating network, so that Eastern Germany is strengthened as an important Cleantech location, economic success is achieved and an increased growth is generated.
Exchange of information and communication
CIO provides useful information and promotes the communication, the exchange and the initial business contact between the network members and partners. This aims at widening the focus of the companies and institutions and thus pointing out new perspectives.
Presentation of the innovative capacity and the experience
The CIO presents the competencies and the innovative capacity of the East German business and science at conferences, trade fairs and other events.
Due to the fragmentation of the East German Cleantech economy, the CIO aims at combining the competencies of the companies along the value chain. By establishing contacts to partners for the formation of complex value chains, the initiative supports the development of an economic structure which can benefit from the great existing growth potentials. This way, even small companies with excellent products or know-how can make use of further market opportunities - especially abroad or with larger projects.
Raising awareness
For the CIO, it is an essential task to promote the identity of the Cleantech location East Germany and raise the awareness of it as location for innovative environmental technologies to the outside. It is aimed at enhancing the international co-operation.
Supporting innovations
By organising the framework conditions, such as provision of contacts, promoting the communication between companies and research institutions, formation of co-operations and subsidy consultancy, the CIO prepares the environment in order to strengthen the innovative capacity of the East German companies. Here, the initiative supports research and development projects by networking, the provision of information on suitable funding programmes and supervision of the projects.
Promoting the internationalisation
In order to grow further, a successful internationalisation of the company is necessary. Within the scope of co-operative projects, the CIO supports the small and medium-sized enterprises in participating in tenders and projects. The initiative uses synergies and provides information on foreign markets, existing programmes, current delegation trips, events and joint trade fair stands.
Facilitate investments
The CIO aims at providing the small and medium-sized enterprises with information on suitable funding programmes for innovations and investments as well as bringing together companies and private investors. The website or events provide a platform for the use of borrowed capital and other financing opportunities.
Generation of co-operative projects between companies and research
East Germany has an outstandingly strongly developed research landscape with numerous innovative companies. This potential should be used by bringing together the existing competencies and pointing out development paths. In doing so, the establishment of economically successful East German Cleantech companies in the internal market and at the international level is of great importance. By arranging co-operations, the technology transfer and the exchange of knowledge is promoted. This helps the companies to develop innovative products, implement new projects and generate greater growth.
